Words that inform, build trust, and motivate buyers to contact you.
Your ad description is your sales pitch. A well-written description answers every buyer’s question before they even have to ask — and that means more messages and faster sales.
The 5-Part Description Formula
- Opening line — State exactly what you’re selling and its condition. (e.g., “iPhone 14 Pro Max, 256GB, Space Black — excellent condition, no scratches.”)
- Key features — List the most important specs or qualities buyers care about.
- Reason for selling — A brief, honest reason builds trust. (e.g., “Upgrading to a new phone.”)
- What’s included — Charger, box, accessories, warranty card, etc.
- Call to action — Tell buyers what to do. (e.g., “Message me to arrange a viewing in Karachi.”)
Use Searchable Keywords
Think about the words a buyer would type to find your item. Include the brand name, model number, color, size, and city. This helps your ad appear in Exchstore search results and even Google.
Be Specific, Not Vague
✅ Do This
- “Used for 8 months, battery health 91%”
- “Minor scuff on the back, screen perfect”
- “Price is negotiable for serious buyers”
❌ Avoid This
- “Good condition, contact for details”
- “Urgent sale”
- “Best price” (without a number)
Keep It Readable
Use short paragraphs and bullet points. Buyers skim — they should be able to scan your ad in 10 seconds and get the key facts. Aim for 80–200 words; enough detail without being overwhelming.
⚠️
Avoid These MistakesNever write your phone number inside the description — Exchstore’s messaging system protects both parties. Ads with external contact details may be removed.
