Dispute resolution

While Exchstore facilitates connections between buyers and sellers, we are not a direct party to any transaction. However, we are committed to helping users resolve disputes fairly and efficiently when they arise.

1. Common Types of Disputes

Disputes between users may arise from:

  • Item not matching the listing description
  • Item not received after payment
  • Payment not received after item handed over
  • Damaged or defective items not disclosed by the seller
  • Price changes or additional demands at the point of transaction
  • Failure to show up for an agreed meeting

2. Step 1 — Resolve Directly

We strongly encourage users to first attempt to resolve any disagreement directly with the other party. Most disputes can be resolved through clear and respectful communication:

  • Contact the other user through Exchstore’s messaging system
  • Clearly explain the issue and what resolution you are seeking
  • Give the other party a reasonable time to respond (at least 48 hours)
  • Keep all communication on the platform for documentation purposes

3. Step 2 — Report to Exchstore

If direct resolution fails, you may escalate the dispute to Exchstore by:

  • Submitting a dispute report at support@exchstore.com
  • Including your name, the other user’s username or ad URL, a description of the issue, and any evidence (screenshots, photos, chat records)

Our support team will review your report within 3–5 business days and may:

  • Contact both parties for additional information
  • Mediate to reach a mutually acceptable solution
  • Take action against the account found in violation (warning, suspension, ban)

📌 Note: Exchstore’s dispute support is primarily a moderation service and does not guarantee financial recovery. We cannot force transactions, refunds, or returns between users.

4. Legal Recourse

For significant financial disputes, you may consider:

  • Filing a complaint with the Pakistan Consumer Protection Council
  • Pursuing the matter through civil courts if legal obligations were breached
  • Contacting local police if fraud or criminal activity is suspected

Exchstore will cooperate with law enforcement authorities when required.

5. Prevention Tips

To minimize the risk of disputes:

  • Inspect items thoroughly before completing payment
  • Never pay in advance without verifying the seller’s identity and listing authenticity
  • Use secure, traceable payment methods
  • Keep screenshots of the listing and all communications
  • Meet in safe, public locations for in-person exchanges
