One-time passwords (OTPs) are sent by SMS or email and expire quickly — usually within 5 to 10 minutes. If yours hasn’t shown up, don’t keep requesting new ones straight away. Work through these checks first.
Why OTPs Get Delayed or Lost
- Your mobile carrier is experiencing delivery delays (common during peak hours)
- The OTP went to your spam or junk folder (for email OTPs)
- You’re using a VoIP or virtual number that doesn’t receive SMS properly
- Your phone number or email isn’t correctly saved in your profile
- Network congestion on the SMS gateway causing a delay of up to 5 minutes
- Do Not Disturb or call-filtering apps blocking the SMS
What to Do
1
Wait at least 2 minutes before requesting again
Duplicate OTP requests can cause the original to be cancelled. Be patient on the first attempt.
2
Check spam, promotions, and junk folders
Email OTPs from automated systems often land in spam. Search for “Exchstore” in all folders.
3
Confirm your phone number is correct in your profile
Go to your account settings and verify the number on file matches your current SIM card exactly, including the country code.
4
Toggle airplane mode off and on
This forces your phone to reconnect to the network and often triggers delayed SMS delivery immediately.
5
Try an alternative verification method
If both SMS and email OTPs fail, contact our support team — we can verify your identity through an alternative process.
🚨Security reminder: Never share your OTP with anyone — including people claiming to be Exchstore staff. Our team will never ask for your OTP. If someone does, it’s a scam.
